In 2004, after releasing Gleam, Michael began working on what would become the album "Boundless". That album was archived and wouldn’t see release until 2020.

But in 2019, after many years of dormancy, Michael reactivated his recording and picked up where he left off, dusting off the last post-Boundless tracks that were still gestating, and began writing new music for the first time in a decade. “Above” was released via Space Honey Records in June of 2020, and was followed later that year by it’s counterpart “Below”.

The songs on this release blend old ideas with new goals. The Etherine project is still the core of his compositional world, and all other projects flow out of it. Finding his footing again after years of inactivity, these songs show a renewed sense of exploration and discovery, a revisiting of old melodies and sounds and a look towards what will come next.
